Famous for verdant valleys and enchanting greenery, and nestled in the gorgeous Eastern Ghats , Araku valley is 112 Km From Vizag. Encompassing wonderful things like million year old borra caves, highest broad gauge railway staion, the souring spirits of tribal's, water falls tea estates, coffee estates, endless lines of silver oaks the list is a long one.

Things are endless, not to be missed are, the journey to araku by rail route, borra caves, a show of Dhimsa.

Padmapuram Botanical Gardens in Araku Valley- tree top hanging cottages / huts are the main attraction of this place. It has beds of beautiful colourful roses.
Tribal Museum in Araku Valley - a wonderful museum depicting the local tribal heritage and their living system.
Tyda - Jungle Bells - is an eco-tourist place for bird watching, rock climbing and trekking. The tourists can experience the wilderness by over night camping in this place.

How to Reach There
The best way to cover Araku valley is by going by Train. Kirandul passenger start in the morning at 6.50 am and reach araku by 10.40 am 4 hours journey ., but this passes through many tunnels and you really enjoy the trip., This train line passes through 84 bridges and 58 tunnels. This train line is built specially to carry iron ore to Visakhapatnam port from the mineral reserves of Chhattisgarh state (place called kirandul). This is a broad gauge line that passes through Shimiliguda station which is the highest broad gauge station of India

By Road : RTC buses runs from vizag in regular intervels from Vizag. If your are planing yoiur trip on your own vehicle then route map can be found below. The route would be Vizag, NADXRoad,S Kota, Tyda, Anantagiri, Araku.You may also opt for road journey (115 Kilometers) by road, but the whole beauty lies in journey by train with a lot of tunnels and bridges

APTDC offers one day and two-day tour packages starting from Visakhapatnam. The one-day package is rail-cum-road package that takes visitors to Araku and Borra Caves. Events and Attractions  
Dhimsa is the official dance of Vizag and is performed here in the vally by the tribes. Also  a must is a visit to Borra caves.
